New: Aston Villa v Man City – Narrow In, Narrow Out

Our latest tactical analysis is live. It's about how Emery's Villa used being narrow in and out of possession against City's man-to-man press:

• Playing through the press: the link pass, Manzambi dragging Khusanov inside, and the space either side of Jackson

• The central press and the jump: Gomez and Kamara

• A 3v3 in midfield and the space for McGinn

• The compact block: McGinn, Alysson and Manzambi's roles, and the lopsided 4-3-3

• Where the narrow shape can be weak: the early switch
